The Missoula County Fire Protection Association (MCFPA) was founded in the 1980s to better coordinate wildfire prevention and response in Missoula County. Founding members include the Missoula Fire Department, Missoula Rural Fire District, Frenchtown Rural, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, USDA Forest Service, Missoula County Emergency Services, and emergency dispatch centers and other volunteer fire districts.
