Typically, fireworks are legal on private land* in Missoula County. Fireworks are prohibited on public lands & as follows:

Missoula City *Most fireworks are illegal. Exceptions are novelties: party poppers, snappers, toy smoke devices, snakes and glow worms, and sparklers. More info

Missoula County Fireworks are illegal at County Parks and Recreation Areas. Rules.

State Parks & Lands Fireworks are illegal. See Recreational Use of State Lands Restrictions.

National Forest Land Fireworks are illegal. See Fireworks & Firearms at USFS.

Violators will be prosecuted and held liable for wildfire starts.
